4. Face Verification Technology
Optional Feature: Face verification uses advanced AI technology (DeepFace library) to compare your live photo with your profile picture.
- • Verification photos are processed locally and temporarily
- • We only store the verification status (verified/not verified), not the photos
- • Confidence scores are calculated but not permanently stored
- • Temporary verification images are automatically deleted after processing
- • This feature is entirely optional and can be skipped
5. Location Data Handling
5.1 Location Collection
- We collect precise location data only when the app is active
- Location updates occur every 30 seconds while the app is in use
- Your location is cached locally for 10 seconds to improve performance
5.2 Location Usage
- Calculate distance between you and other users
- Show users within 50 meters (customizable radius)
- Optimize search algorithms using geographic bounding boxes
5.3 Location Privacy Controls
- Visibility Timer: Choose how long you appear to others (30 minutes - 4 hours)
- Invisible Mode: Set yourself as invisible to all users
- Location History: We only store your most recent location, not a history

- Google OAuth: For secure sign-in (we only receive your basic profile information)
- No Other Third Parties: We do not share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers

9. Your Privacy Rights

- Profile Management: Update or delete your profile information anytime
- Location Controls: Turn off location sharing or set visibility timers
- Photo Management: Add, change, or remove profile photos
- Message Control: Delete messages or block users
9.2 Account Deletion
- Delete your account completely through the app settings
- All personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days
- Some anonymized data may be retained for safety and security purposes

Upon request, we can provide you with a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used format.
10. Children's Privacy
Age Requirement: Whyspr is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information immediately.
